We’re working on a project to build a windfarm for our client. Max Power Organisation has applied to the Government to build a windfarm in the Clydevale area. The windfarm would be composed of 50 wind turbines, each being 300 feet tall (two-thirds the size of Blackpool Tower). The cost of this operation would be 90 million pounds and would take between 18 and 24 months to complete.
Windfarms are an important source of clean, renewable energy. Wind turbines are a relatively simple system of generating electricity, and windfarms have almost no carbon footprint once they are constructed. The UK is quite a windy country and we are the world leader in offshore wind power – in fact, 18% of our own energy was generated this way in 2018. Onshore wind farms cost about half as much as offshore farms.
Max Power says the windfarm will provide ‘green’ electric energy to 50,000 homes in the Clydevale area and prevent the release of 200,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide gas into the atmosphere each year therefore contributing to the Government’s commitment to help reduce global warming. This successful company has already made a huge profit from the construction of two other windfarms in Scotland.
